Abamaba's Story 

Abamaba is an ambitious clothing brand seeking a paradigm shift in Africa by making cross-cultural men’s clothes. We are going against the norm of sub-standard indigenous craft, to produce world-class clothing that seeks to elevate our customers in style, and give a different narrative of our Africa.

Abamaba was founded in 2017 by an architecture student  who was fed up with the limitations he met in his training.  

 

Seeking to tell the story of innovation and the richness of local craft, he forged a solution; building his designs, with textile fabric.

 

Embarking on a thrilling journey, he went on to acquire a hand machine and taught himself to sew whilst still in architecture school. Despite failed initiatives to raise funds in 2019, he transformed a garage into a fashion studio where the company has been operating as a full-time business since September 2020.
